Never Ending Sweeping & Mopping . . . by Jaycee of course!

So Yesterday I swept my kitchen floor then got down on my hands and knees with a bucket of soapy water and mopped.
The pleasure that went through me after the job was completed is kind of depressing. What is it about a clean floor that makes a house wife so joyful?! And then today as cereal was thrown, milk was spilt and the outside was brought into the inside by the dog, a ting of depression swept through me! So now I'm just wondering, "Am I the only one out there that can't keep their floors clean longer than 12 hours at a time and what is the secret of keeping that Joyfulness with me longer? Will it always be so fleeting?!!
Sincerely,
One Mothers Plea to the next!
(I'm just a little dramatic today if you can't tell!)

Having a clean floor is so satisfying to me also. But, that is probably because I wait too long in between moppings!

I had the same exact experience this week. I mopped in the afternoon and then that evening during dinner, Hayden spilled her whole cup of milk. I cleaned it up, but it just didn't feel the same. And now I am making a cake and she just spilled flour all over. It is never ending, but having the dog helps. When I sweep there are only un-edible things left in the dust pan.

Wow, it's like I was reading my thoughts exactly! Mopping is a pain in the ... and so satisfying for about 10 seconds till the kids come around! I have gone on strike against my kitchen floor. Seriously, you should see it.

Just today I cleaned my floors and only a few minutes later, Lincoln dumped his plate full of food off of his high chair tray and onto my sparkling floor. You are not the only one.

We are all in this together. I don't mop....I sweep once at night and then only mop when company comes over...which isn't much! That is very satisfying...making up your mind and sticking to it! I'm with Heather... STRIKE!

If you can make it 12 hours - I think you're still a goddess! I can't keep my floors clean for an hour.... this morning Ava spilled cereal 10 minutes (10 MINUTES!!!) after I swept and cleaned the floors! I think you're still ahead of the game! ;)

I now dub thee queen of the floors - it's not like I'm floor royality or anything, but you take the crown! Your battle story is much worse than any of mine, that I can remember.

Don't you just love cleaning up all the wonderful things the kids get on the floor. Then you clean them and have this beautiful floor and like 5 minutes later something gets spilled again. It's a never ending cycle, but serious props for doing it!

Your girls are so cute! I can't remember if I commented a while ago, but if I didn't I meant to. It's nice to catch a bit, even if it is by blog.

I was going thru these exact feelings today as I was sweeping the kitchen floor! No kidding. I hate cleaning because while I enjoy the few hours (...or moments, rather) it looks clean and tidy, I can't fully enjoy it because Jaakson will destroy it. Somehow. Without fail, everytime. But you know what gets me through it? I know that someday my beautiful children will be dependable, hard workers that I can make do those chores like my parents made me... muah ha ha! ;)

I also know just how you feel! Yesterday, Kenadee spilled her chocolate milk on the floor. I had just finished wiping it up-I hadn't even stood up yet-when her bowl of soup fell onto the floor. I started laughing just to keep myself from crying.
